Align Architecture assists Marston Green Infant Academy with school extension

Once again, we’ve been using our industry knowledge and experience to help deliver sustainable projects within the education sector.
Assisting Honeybourne Facilities Group Ltd within a contractor’s design capacity, our role has been to develop the planning proposals for creating additional teaching space into a technical design solution that will meet the requirements of the Academy.
The project relies on a new build structural timber frame system to provide an ecologically friendly and energy efficient building.
Given our experience on other similar projects, we were able to provide a high-quality, detailed timber frame design in an extremely short timescale – creating a design that was in line with the Academy design team’s vision for the project.
For Marston Green Infant Academy, the challenge was for the provision of a low cost, highly sustainable outbuilding on a constrained site that met the needs of a busy school.
One of the project’s main priorities was to provide children with a safe learning facility, while delivering additional teaching space for children to learn comfortably.
Working closely with the contractor team at Honeybourne Group, we have successfully explored ways to bring the design team’s aspirations to life, while ensuring the initial ground works could be completed during the school’s half-term holiday period.
It has been a successful project, and we’re currently working alongside Honeybourne Facilities Group and Marston Green Infant Academy to ensure the project achieves practical completion on time and on budget.
